Free SEO and AI visibility score, plus titles, meta, schema, alt text, redirects and llms.txt kept current by weekly scans.

== Description ==

Rank Any Site reads your public pages the way Google and AI answer engines do, scores your site out of 100 and lists what to fix.

Most SEO plugins grade what you typed into the editor. Rank Any Site checks what your published page really serves, because that is what Google and AI tools read.

**Free, no account:**

* **What the live page serves.** One click on any post or page and your site reads its own published page the way Google and AI crawlers do. You get plain findings: "Google sees 2 page descriptions, your theme prints an extra one", "your server sends a noindex header", "the canonical points somewhere else", "robots.txt blocks ChatGPT".
* **Can AI answer from this page?** Checks the things ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI need to quote you: a short answer-first opening, questions answered on the page, sources linked, schema, the page listed in llms.txt, and AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt.
* **Your facts, with proof.** Licenses with their lookup links, insurance, year founded, reviews, phone, address, Google Business Profile and service areas. They go into LocalBusiness schema (with your licenses as credentials), a llms.txt file and a How To Check Us page, made in one click. Empty fields print nothing; the plugin never makes up a fact.
* **Fix it in one click.** Most findings come with a Fix button, and "Fix All" makes every fix for a page at once, after you confirm. Site-wide fixes: keep one title, description, canonical and robots tag when a theme or plugin prints extras; remove a noindex header added by code; turn off "Discourage search engines"; add share previews (Open Graph and Twitter); add Article or WebPage schema and FAQ schema built word for word from questions on the page; fill missing alt text from the Media Library; allow AI crawlers in robots.txt; serve llms.txt; show your phone and city in the footer. Page fixes: point the canonical at the page, write the description from the page's own opening, shorten a long title at a whole word, use the first image as the share image. The dashboard has "Fix Everything" for the recommended site fixes, every fix can be turned off again, and the Posts list has a "check and fix" bulk action.
* **House rules for titles and descriptions.** Titles as service, city and phone ("Car Lockout in Tulsa OK. Call (918) 555-0142"), about 60 characters, with periods or commas instead of pipes, colons and dashes. Descriptions of 140 to 160 characters with your phone on service pages. The box, the live check and one-click fixes all follow them, using the phone in Your Facts.
* **Meta keywords (optional).** A per-page keywords field in the box, Quick Edit and the Bulk SEO Editor, printed only when filled in, with a warning when a list runs past 8 phrases or repeats a word. Google ignores this tag; Bing may read it.
* **Connections.** Google Analytics 4 (loaded after the page is ready, never for logged-in editors), Google and Bing verification (meta tags, the Google HTML file and BingSiteAuth.xml), your own llms.txt, and IndexNow pings on publish, update and delete (opt-in).
* **Sitemaps and archives.** Last-modified dates in the WordPress sitemap, /sitemap.xml sent to it, a Sitemap line in robots.txt (a real robots.txt file is edited once, with a backup), noindexed pages kept out, and thin pages (date archives, search results, author pages on one-author sites) kept out of search, with attachment pages sent to their post.
* **Clean head.** One title with your business name once, one description (a description a page builder puts inside the page body moves to the head), one canonical, schema printed once, and no Article markup on plain pages.
* **Speed fixes.** The main image loads first and is preloaded, other images decode in the background and get their width and height, Google Analytics and Tag Manager tags from your theme load after the page, emoji and embed scripts and extra head links are removed, Google Fonts show text right away, new uploads are saved as WebP, and blocking scripts can be deferred (advanced). The live check measures how fast your server builds each page, whether it is compressed, how heavy it is, and what blocks it.
* **Page caching.** One click saves each page as HTML and serves it to visitors who are not logged in, through the standard advanced-cache.php drop-in. It clears itself on every edit, comment, menu or SEO change, skips logged-in users, carts, checkouts, searches and forms, times the home page before and after so you see the gain, and stays off when another cache plugin or a managed host cache is found. Optional browser caching and compression for Apache and LiteSpeed.
* **Local checks.** Each live check compares the phone and city on the page with your facts.
* **What changed this week.** Every title, description, robots, canonical and fact change is logged with its before and after, and the dashboard shows the change in live-page issues it caused.
* **Your search listing.** SEO title and description with a Google preview and plain length hints, an optional search phrase, title variables (%title%, %sitename%, %sep%, %year%, %excerpt%), per page noindex, nofollow and canonical. Noindexed pages leave the sitemap and llms.txt.
* **Many pages at once.** The Posts and Pages lists show each page's live-check result, Quick Edit has the SEO fields, and the Bulk SEO Editor writes titles and descriptions for many pages on one screen.
* **Turn any part on or off.** Rank Any Site, Settings has a panel for each area (SEO box, live page check, meta keywords, site fixes, facts and schema, sitemap cleanup, connections, speed and caching, change log, citations) with a switch. Turning one off stops everything it prints and keeps its settings for later.
* **A site dashboard** with your score, score history, issues by priority, and sitemap cleanup that works with the WordPress sitemap, Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO.
* Works beside Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO: your values and facts go into their tags and schema, so nothing prints twice.

**With a Rank Any Site plan** (paid service, first month $5), the plugin applies the fixes in your page source and keeps them current:

* Titles and meta descriptions written from what is really on each page.
* Schema: Organization or LocalBusiness with the licenses and facts you enter, WebPage, Breadcrumbs, Articles and FAQs that are visible on the page.
* Open Graph and Twitter tags so shared links look right.
* Image alt text.
* Redirects from old URLs that now 404 to the page that replaced them.
* llms.txt and llms-full.txt so AI tools describe your business correctly.
* Every page in your sitemap checked each week; pages that are broken, redirected, set to noindex or pointing their canonical elsewhere are left out of the sitemap automatically.
* A fresh scan every week, so new and changed pages get fixed too, with score history on the dashboard.
* Citations and directories: which directories your business is listed on for its trade (Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp, BBB, Facebook, Nextdoor, Angi, Thumbtack and the ones for your industry), whether each listing has your right phone and place, and links to claim or add the missing ones. Free sites see the directory list.

The plugin never invents facts about your business. Licenses, insurance, address and hours only come from what you enter in your account. It only adds a description where a page has none and never repeats a schema type a page already has, so it works next to other SEO plugins.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to Rank Any Site (https://rankanysite.com), a service run by Supercanic LLC. Nothing is sent until an administrator clicks a button on the Rank Any Site dashboard.

* **Free score.** When you click "Check My Site Free", the plugin sends your site's home URL to https://rankanysite.com/api/free/score. The service reads your public pages and returns a score, top issues and a link to the full report.
* **Plan sync.** When you save a license key, and then once a day, the plugin sends the license key, your site's home URL and the plugin version to https://rankanysite.com/api/lic/sync. The service returns the fixes for your pages, which the plugin stores in your options table.
* **Rescan.** "Rescan My Site Now" sends the same data with a rescan request.

* **Citations check (plan sites, only when you click Check My Listings).** The plugin sends your license key, home URL, business name, business type, phone, address and Google Business Profile link to https://rankanysite.com/api/lic/citations. The service searches public directories for the business through a search data provider and returns the listings it found.
* **Google Analytics (only when you enter a Measurement ID on the Connections screen).** Visitors' browsers load Google's tag from https://www.googletagmanager.com after the page is ready, and Google Analytics receives the usual page view data. Google terms: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/ and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
* **IndexNow (only when you turn it on on the Connections screen).** When a page is published, updated or deleted, its address, your site's host name and the IndexNow key are sent to https://api.indexnow.org/indexnow, which shares them with participating search engines. Terms: https://www.indexnow.org/terms

The plugin itself sends no visitor data to rankanysite.com. Rank Any Site's crawler identifies itself as RankAnySiteBot and only reads public pages.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is the score really free? =

Yes. The score, top issues and full report cost nothing and need no account.

= What does a plan cost? =

The first month is $5. After that Starter is $19 a month for one site, Pro is $49 a month for five sites and Agency is $129 a month for 25 sites. Cancel any time from your account page.

= Will it fight with my other SEO plugin? =

No. When Yoast SEO, Rank Math or All in One SEO is active, the title, description, robots and canonical you set in the Rank Any Site box are passed into that plugin's own tags instead of printed a second time. With a plan, the service only adds a meta description where a page has none and never repeats a schema type the page already has. It does set the page title when it has a better one. If your other plugin also prints schema, you can switch that part off there.

= What happens if I cancel? =

The plugin keeps working until the end of the month you paid for. Seven days after a plan ends it stops applying fixes and your pages go back to how they were.

= What versions does it work with? =

* WordPress 5.8 or newer, tested up to 7.1 (7.1.3).
* PHP 7.4 to 8.5. Checked for PHP 7.4+ compatibility and run on PHP 8.5.
* Block editor and classic editor.
* Tested beside Yoast SEO 28.7, Rank Math 1.0.280 and All in One SEO 5.0.3. Your values go into their tags and schema instead of printing twice.
* Page caching works on Apache, Nginx and LiteSpeed wherever WordPress can write to wp-content. Browser caching rules are written to .htaccess on Apache 2.4 and LiteSpeed; on Nginx the dashboard shows the rule to give your host.
* Page caching stays off when WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache, WP Fastest Cache, Breeze, Cache Enabler, or a managed host cache (WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround, WordPress.com, Flywheel, Pantheon, Pressable, GoDaddy) is found.
* The editor box works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

= I used the Clickflame Site Tags plugin. Do I still need it? =

No. Open Rank Any Site, Connections, click Import Its Settings (it copies the analytics ID, verification codes and llms.txt and turns on the same head cleanup), then deactivate Clickflame Site Tags.

= Does page caching change my files? =

Turning it on writes wp-content/advanced-cache.php and, when wp-config.php is writable, adds one line: define( 'WP_CACHE', true );. Turning it off, or deactivating the plugin, removes both and deletes the saved pages. Nothing else is changed.

= Does the live check send my pages anywhere? =

No. Your site fetches its own page, robots.txt and llms.txt, and reads them on your server. Nothing goes to rankanysite.com unless you click Check My Site Free or save a license key.

= Does it slow my site down? =

No. Fixes are stored in your options table and applied without any outside request on page views.

== Changelog ==

= 2.8.1 =
* Settings switches and the dashboard Fixes switches save the moment you flip them, with no page reload.

= 2.8.0 =
* New Settings screen: every part of the plugin in panels, each with an on/off switch. Turning one off stops its output and hides its screens; its settings are kept.

= 2.7.4 =
* New site fix: point schema at your business. The person or organization another SEO plugin made up for the site is replaced by your real business entry, and the website is named after your business. The Clickflame Site Tags import turns it on where Site Tags ran in Rank Math mode, and fills in the business name.

= 2.7.3 =
* Schema clean-up keeps a page's own hand-built article markup and only drops article markup another SEO plugin generated.

= 2.7.2 =
* Titles printed as written keep the straight apostrophes you typed.

= 2.7.1 =
* New site fix: print page titles exactly as written (for sites whose titles already follow the service, city and phone formula). Schema names that copied the old title follow. The Clickflame Site Tags import turns it on where Site Tags did.

= 2.7.0 =
* New site fixes: keep the page's own description (one written into the page content wins over the theme's or SEO plugin's) and use the page title as written when it already holds the business name.
* The Clickflame Site Tags import now turns these on, so Rank Any Site serves the same head that Site Tags did.

= 2.6.0 =
* New: house rules for titles and descriptions in the box, the live check and the fixes (service, city and phone titles; 140 to 160 character descriptions with the phone on service pages; no pipes, colons or dashes). New page fix: write the title the house way.
* New: optional meta keywords per page (box, Quick Edit, Bulk SEO Editor), printed only when filled in.
* New: Citations screen. Plan sites see where they are listed and whether the phone and place match; free sites see the directory list for their trade.

= 2.5.0 =
* New: Connections screen for Google Analytics 4 (loaded after the page), Google and Bing verification, your own llms.txt and IndexNow, with a one-click import from Clickflame Site Tags.
* New site fixes: schema clean-up, better sitemap (last-modified dates), Sitemap line in robots.txt, thin archive pages, main image first, analytics after the page, remove page bloat, font swap, WebP uploads, defer blocking scripts (advanced), and page caching on the Fixes card.
* New: Speed section in the live check (server time, compression, page weight, blocking scripts, early analytics, emoji script, lazy main image, missing image sizes, JPEG and PNG images, Google Fonts), and checks for a business name doubled in the title, schema printed twice, Article markup on plain pages, and a missing Sitemap line in robots.txt.
* Fixes card grouped into Google search, AI answers, Local and Speed.

= 2.4.0 =
* New: Fix buttons on live-check findings and "Fix All" for a page, with a confirm. Every fix is logged and site-wide fixes can be turned off.
* New: Fixes card on the dashboard with "Fix Everything" for the recommended site fixes.
* New: "Rank Any Site: check and fix" bulk action on the Posts and Pages lists.
* New: page caching with a drop-in, automatic clearing, a before and after speed test, conflict detection, and optional browser caching.
* New: version and compatibility list in the readme and on the dashboard.

= 2.3.0 =
* New: the box on each page now leads with what the live page really serves to Google and AI tools, in plain words, with sections for Google search, AI answers and Local.
* New: Your Facts screen. Licenses, insurance, reviews, address, Google Business Profile and service areas feed LocalBusiness schema with credentials, llms.txt and a How To Check Us page.
* New: change log with before and after, and "What changed this week" on the dashboard.
* New: "Can AI tools trust and quote you?" card on the dashboard.
* Changed: the keyword score is gone. Notes on the draft list only what to do. "Focus keyword" is now an optional search phrase.
* The Posts and Pages lists show each page's live-check result.

= 2.2.0 =
* New SEO box on every post and page (block and classic editor): focus keyword, SEO title, meta description, live Google preview, length meters and a content check with a score.
* Per page noindex, nofollow and canonical URL; noindexed pages leave the sitemap.
* SEO column, Quick Edit fields and a Bulk SEO Editor on the Posts and Pages lists.
* Your own per-page values win over plan fixes and over Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO output.

= 2.1.0 =
* New dashboard: score dial, score history chart, issues by priority, live fixes at a glance.
* Sitemap cleanup for the WordPress sitemap, Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO.
* Rank Any Site now has its own admin menu.

= 2.0.0 =
* First release on WordPress.org: free score, licensed fixes with weekly rescans, redirects and llms.txt.
